Councils walk away from VNI West process

NORTHERN Grampians Shire has walked away from a key VNI West assessment group, accusing the process of becoming “tokenistic” and saying council specialists were spending their time checking and correcting the project proponent’s technical work. Northern Grampians and Buloke shire councils have formally withdrawn from the Technical Reference Group guiding the Environment Effects Statement for the high-voltage transmission project.
