Demand grows for community meals
THE committee behind the Ararat Food Van project say demand is growing as more people become aware of their services. The Community Food Van operates each Wednesday from the Ararat Skate Park providing a free hot meal to anyone in need.

On its first night of operation back in September, 15 people took advantage of the service, which has steadily grown to around 35.
The service is run by a small group of volunteers who saw the need to provide hot meals for people in the Ararat community doing it tough.
People in need of a hot meal are welcome to come along to the Community Food Van which is located at the Ararat Skate Park every Wednesday night from 6.30pm.
The committee expects to extend the service to a second night of the week in the near future operating from the Green Hill Lake precinct.
The Community Food Van was purchased and donated to the committee by the publisher of this newspaper, West Vic News Pty Ltd.
