After winning the toss and bowling, disciplined bowling from Nathan Quick, Daniel Taylor and Lucas Ralph made things uncomfortable for the Combine, bowling them out for 80 in the 32nd over.

Taylor was the pick of the bowlers with 3/12 (6). Quick and Ralph finished with 2/14 (5.4) and 2/13 (6), respectively, while Daniel Walker finished with 1/11 (4).

With a low total to chase, the run-chase didn’t start well with Rhymney/Moyston stumbling to 4/18. Despite a 23-run partnership from Solomon Riddell and Grant Le Poidevin, the Combine’s bowling was too strong, bowling them out for 45 in the 28th over.

Le Poidevin was the top scorer with 13 runs, while Solomon Riddell scored 12.

Saturday, Rhymney/Moyston will look to bounce back when they host Lubeck Murtoa at Moyston Recreation Reserve.
