The nuts and bolts of Gift history
AN old penny forgotten in a drawer, a stopwatch gathering dust in a cupboard or a rusted piece of farm machinery could soon become a permanent part of Stawell Gift history. Local sculptor James Laidler is calling on people across the district to dig through sheds, workshops and old collections for small metal objects that could become part of a major sculpture marking the Gift’s 150th anniversary in 2027.
